FAQ

WhY HIRE FROM OVERSEAS?

Simply put, employers in the U.S. are feeling a talent crunch and our domestic colleges and universities are just unable to train a workforce at the speed of business. Even with the best business/education partnerships in place to “grow your own,” organizations are still challenged by skills gaps and brain drains. In other words, employers are still having to train on organization-specific needs once individuals are hired, and are often competing with not only other like- organizations, but with migration of employees from rural to urban areas. Even with the best protections in place, such as relocation perks, higher pay, and supporting local education programs, businesses often must supplement their domestic workforce with an international one.

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?

Services are customizable to the needs of your business. Traditionally, we work with small to large organizations to schedule an overseas recruitment trip. HealthStar’s staff coordinates and facilitations all phases of the recruitment process— from arranging the recruitment trip and all the details therein— to assisting the client with preparing for their new recruits to arrive. With the assistance of our affiliated agencies in each of the countries in which we recruit, we screen candidates according to the client’s criteria, arrange interviews, and provide ongoing local support for the selected candidates. In preparation for recruitment trips, we work with our overseas partners to promote, recruit, and schedule candidates for us to interview when we arrive. Once your organization is satisfied with the number and quality of candidates, HealthStar then works with the candidates to complete licensing and immigration processes in the U.S. and in the candidates’ home-country so that they can arrive in the U.S. ready to provide value to your business.

What kind of immigration?

We have immigrated many professionals to the U.S. under a variety of visas. Each visa option offered by the U.S. brings its share of pros and cons. Two of the most popular visa categories in the health care industry are:

Employment-Based Visa (EB3): The EB3 Visa is a permanent residence visa, also known as the “green card.” This visa category is reserved for skilled or professional workers who have a baccalaureate degree, 2-years of training or experience, or possibly, less than 2 years experience, in some circumstances. EB3 visas allow the candidate’s spouse and children to also emigrate, allowing for the permanent relocation.

Work Visa (H1B): The H1B visa is an employment based, non-immigrant visa for temporary workers in specialty occupations. Workers who emigrate on this visa are limited to 3-6 years in the U.S. Family members of the visa holder are allowed to stay in the U.S. on a different visa.

We recommend our U.S. based organizations to heavily consider the EB3 visa, as it assists the organization in finding a permanent workforce, and allows many of our overseas candidates the opportunity to pursue the American Dream.
