DEFINING YOUR RECRUITMENT NEEDS

The first step in the recruitment process is to identify your organization’s specific workforce needs. Our account executives will assist you in identifying the number and type of healthcare professionals well-suited for international recruitment. The short needs assessment highlights the specialties and experience needed by your U.S.-based organization, so that we may target our recruitment efforts overseas and identify the best immigration and sourcing strategies to meet your needs.

SOURCING YOUR INTERNATIONAL WORKFORCE

The project manager assigned to your case then works with our overseas affiliated agencies to begin translating your U.S.-based needs into the home country’s vernacular and healthcare structure. Once all parties are synchronized on a clear vision of the type of employee and organizational culture for which you are hiring, recruitment efforts begin. We utilize local media resources in the home country to advertise and recruit candidates who are eager to emigrate to the U.S. and work for an American company. We coordinate our “boots on the ground” in each country to assist us with advertising through local media channels and word-of-mouth relationships, screening candidates according to your criteria, and arranging interviews.

PREPARING FOR INTERVIEWS VIA IN-PERSON OR VIRTUAL RECRUITING TRIP

For those clients who elect to make an in-person recruitment trip, we conduct all arrangements in preparation for the trip. HealthStar representatives arrange travel, transport, and accommodations for each trip. In coordination with our affiliated agency, we also secure local offices to conduct in-person interviews, and secure an itinerary for an orientation, welcome meeting, and daily interviews. We also provide a representative to travel with the client to provide cultural assistance and aid in the recruitment process.

For those clients who prefer to recruit remotely, our overseas affiliated agency secures local offices to conduct interviews, arranges for proper technology, schedules, and welcomes candidates as they arrive on-site. HealthStar representatives work stateside to schedule with time zone differences in mind, and coordinate technology in the U.S.

PROVIDING OVERSEAS AND STATESIDE CASE MANAGEMENT

Once you’ve returned stateside from an overseas recruitment trip, HealthStar staff coordinate and case manage from the time an employment offer is made to the employee’s arrival in the United States. We work with our overseas affiliate agency, your organization’s Human Resource professionals, our immigration attorneys, exam testing centers, overseas travel providers, the state’s licensing board, and the U.S. Department of Labor.

Our staff are responsible for ensuring candidates are making timely progress in the English proficiency, licensing, and immigration processes, ensuring all employment documentation is retrieved from your organization and that it satisfies federal requirements, and completing and troubleshooting immigration legal requirements for successful arrival in the U.S. Your project manager, located in our corporate office in Wharton, Texas, is available to provide status updates, answer questions, and provide support at any point in the process.

FINALIZING PREPARATIONS FOR EMPLOYEE ARRIVAL

Once a visa has been issued, HealthStar staff work with your organization’s Human Resource staff to prepare for the foreign healthcare professional’s arrival. We arrange travel for the professional based on the organization’s needs and the professional’s local commitments. Then, if desired, HealthStar staff are available for additional services to assist with arrival, domestic placement, and U.S. orientation of the employee. This includes meeting the candidate at the airport at their arrival, transporting them to their temporary housing, assisting them with opening a bank account, getting a US phone number, grocery shopping, and more.
