History Since 1996, HealthStar International, Inc. has actively recruited healthcare professionals from foreign countries. The company originally began as a temporary staffing agency for rehab professionals, primarily Physical and Occupational Therapists. HealthStar recruited therapists from such countries as the Philippines, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa to be placed on temporary assignments with healthcare companies in the United States. That same year, HealthStar made its first recruitment effort for nurses in Canada to be placed in nearby Houston, Texas. In November of 1998, HealthStar expanded its recruitment of Registered Nurses. Since that time, HealthStar has facilitated the processing of over 450 nurses from various countries who are currently working at healthcare facilities in the United States. An additional 750 nurses are currently in various stages of processing. HealthStar's clientele include such national companies as Renal Care Group Incorporated and HealthSouth Corporation, as well as three hospitals in the Christus Health System (TX, LA) and the Dubuis Health System (TX). Our company was also chosen in 2003 as the preferred provider for California's St. Joseph Health System (which includes Texas' Covenant Health System which now has over 150 foreign nurses practicing at their facilities in Lubbock, Texas). We at HealthStar pride ourselves on being specialists in international recruitment of nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals who desire to come to the United States and provide exceptional patient care. Currently, we primarily recruit nurses from the Philippines and India, but can also research and possibly recruit in other countries at a client's request. |
